Sting 3.0 arrives at Tivoli Friheden...

On Friday evening, June 15, 2025, Tivoli Friheden was transformed into an intimate stage universe, where Sting - wearing a dark outfit and with a high neck - welcomed the audience with characteristic exuberance. With the trio line-up from the STING 3.0 tour (guitar, drums and Sting on electric bass), expectations were high - and nothing was disappointed.

The concert was kicked off with the Police classic “Message in a Bottle” and when “Roxanne” came on, the audience was quickly drawn in by the atmosphere where Sting manages to create community and captivating nostalgia.

Midway through, Sting drew the audience in for a special story before “Fields of Gold”. He shared an anecdote,

"I have a little house out in the English countryside… it's more of a castle really - quite close to Stonehenge. Do you know Stonehenge? If you ever visit Stonehenge, just walk down the hill for half a mile, that's my house. Knock on the door and I'll make you a cup of tea."

This intimate detail brought us closer to Sting - he invited everyone into his home, mentally, that is - and connected artist and audience with warmth and humor.

After the anecdote, the concert shifted into a lighter gear, with Sting delivering “Fields of Gold” and “Englishman in New York” with his warm vocals. There was no-nonsense authenticity in the delivery - focus on lyrics and melody, wrapped in delicate arrangements that gave the audience peace and reflection.

After the quiet middle, the pace was raised again. With hits like “Every Breath You Take” and “Spirits in the Material World”, the evening air was filled with recognition and celebration. The balanced set list design made the experience both varied and complete.

The stage decoration was minimalist and efficient - only the necessary equipment, lights and a back screen. The sound was clear, coordinated and intelligent, exactly as a venue like Tivoli Friheden requires. This lo-fi aesthetic dressed the evening.

The audience was diverse: families, nostalgic fans and younger generations mixed. There was spirit and energy, but also thoughtfulness during the ballads. The intimate setting in Friheden added an extra layer of presence - you almost felt that Sting was singing to you personally.

Sting 3.0 has once again cemented in Tivoli Friheden that he is one of the world's best in his profession. The evening's mix of Police classics, nostalgic solo numbers and intimate stories created a touching and professional whole. A concert where presence and musical quality were right in the box - and where you could imagine sitting in Sting's home, enjoying a cup of tea and feeling the sustainable magic of music.
