One voice, one hit after another... in Orléans, the magic worked at Sting's concert...

Equipped with his bass and surrounded by great support, Sting belted out a barrage of hits this Thursday at CO'Met.

After a stint at the Zénith in 2019 and then at Chambord last year, the English singer and bassist returned to Orléans. This Thursday evening at CO'Met, Sting unleashed an avalanche of hits: Police classics and hits from his solo career. The fans loved it.

It was barely 9 p.m. when the musicians took the stage this Thursday evening. Cheered on by the 8,000 people gathered at CO'Met, Sting, armed with his bass, brought up the rear. Wearing white pants and a tight-fitting T-shirt, the soon-to-be-72-year-old singer and musician had lost none of his allure or charisma.

And already the first chords of one of the biggest hits of the era, Police Message In The Bottle, can be heard, sung in chorus by the audience.

We know the headliner who will succeed Sting for Chambord Live 2023.

Very well supported by her musicians and backup singers, all impeccable, the international icon continued with Englishman In New York and performed the hits "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" and "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free"...

A few lesser-known songs followed, which dampened the mood a bit, but when fans, a touch nostalgic, recognized a song from the first notes, it was magical.

And then it was back with "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You," the moving "Fields Of Gold," and the energetic "Brand New Day." His voice was always at its best. With a gesture, Sting invited the audience to sing along, stand up, or clap their hands.

The concert was effective, and the fans wanted more.

An Englishman in Orléans... Sting performed at the CO'Met Arena this Thursday evening...

The former lead singer of The Police performed on stage at the CO'Met Arena in Orléans (Loiret). 8,000 captivated spectators came to applaud him.

After Michel Polnareff in early June 2023, the CO'Met Arena in Orléans (Loiret) hosted its first concert by a major foreign artist, with the arrival of Sting. The former lead singer of The Police performed at the new Orléans venue this Thursday, July 6, 2023.

Nearly two hours of performance in front of 8,000 captivated spectators! Every Breath You Take, So Lonely, Englishman In New York… At 71, Sting is no slouch, revisiting the greatest classics from his repertoire, and that of the band that made him famous.

Accompanied by excellent musicians (including the very talented Shane Sager on harmonica) and captivating backing vocals, the British artist also showcased his son on several tracks. With a voice identical to his father's, Joe Sumner set the tone for the show during a convincing opening act.

At the end of the concert, called back by the audience, the band played overtime. The ghost of The Police resurfaced with the song "Roxanne," sung by the 8,000 spectators at the CO'Met, who became agitated.

Then came a more solemn moment, the finale of the concert! Sting, who had until then never let go of his bass, picked up an acoustic guitar. Sitting on a stool, the singer sang "Fragile," another of his many hits. This time, it was more moving. Tears streamed down the cheeks of some of the spectators.

Sting hasn't performed in Orléans since his appearance at the Zénith in 2019. Last year, in the summer of 2022, he performed in the gardens of the Château de Chambord. The singer and bassist will be performing this Friday, July 7, 2023, at the Déferlantes du Barcarès, near Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), before continuing a European tour.
