On Thursday, July 20, Sting, one of the biggest pop and rock stars, captivated the stage and his fans at Krakow's Tauron Arena. We heard the most popular hits from his career, and the fans gathered in large numbers in front of the stage could immerse themselves in the romantic and emotional sounds of hits such as "Message in the Bottle," "Walking on the Moon," and "Roxanne." This is how the icon of the 1970s and 1980s moved Krakow. See the photos!
Sting's Thursday concert at Wawel Castle was part of his "My Songs" tour. The British singer is performing his greatest hits—both from his solo career and those from his time with The Police. We heard such hits as "Message In The Bottle", "Walking On The Moon", "Roxanne", "So Lonely", "Every Breath You Take", "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free", "Englishman in New York", "Shape of My Heart" and "Fragile". There were 22 songs in total.
His real name is Gordon Sumner and he was born in 1951. He was interested in music from a young age, quickly learning to play guitar and bass. He eventually chose the latter, trying his hand at various jazz bands. When the punk revolt broke out in England in 1977, he dropped everything and moved from his hometown of Newcastle to London. There, with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, he formed the trio The Police.
In 2019, Sting released the album "My Songs," which featured new versions of selected hits. The album was to be accompanied by a major world tour, which began in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the pandemic changed those plans. Eventually, after the lockdown was lifted, Sting returned to perform on that tour. Now we could see him and hear his most popular songs live at the Tauron Arena in Krakow.
