Sting played a sold-out O2 Arena in Prague on Friday. His son was his opening act...

His music is best composed when he is surrounded by chaos and noise. And the fact that he probably had a lot of chaos around him is evidenced by the hits that the whole world knows today. On Friday night, the sold-out O2 Arena in Prague also sang them.

Another performer who tried to sell out the largest hall in the Czech Republic was Sting.

Although in the case of the seventeen-time Grammy winner, it was clear from the beginning that he would succeed - and even to the floor.

Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner came on stage for almost a second, exactly as planned. His best partner on stage is the bass guitar. For Friday's concert, he chose a brown-black Fender bass guitar, which has accompanied him since his beginnings in the band The Police and subsequently in his solo projects.

This model has its roots in the 1950s. On his YouTube channel, Sting recently admitted that he hates new musical instruments, but he likes those that have already been around for a while. However, he put on an extraordinary musical show with a shabby bass guitar on the O2 Arena stage.

It was the song Message in a Bottle that kicked off the hundred-minute performance. But it was the second hit Englishman in New York that got the fans excited, which the entire hall sang along to with Sting.

This time, the English musician also brought news from his current album The Bridge, which was released a year ago. The most loyal listeners appreciated the songs If It’s Love and Rushing Water from the aforementioned album.

Recently, the 71-year-old singer proved that he is one of those performers who can give it his all at his concerts. Proof of this is the song If I Ever Lose My Faith in You, in which Sting was not afraid of even higher notes while singing.

Even for his respectable performance, he then enjoyed a long applause from the fans and smoothly moved on to playing his big hit Fields of Gold.

Sting was accompanied by a young accordionist. The star of the evening brought him to the forefront before the song Brand New Day, when accordionist Shane Sager won over the audience during his solo.

Sting's son Joe Sumner did not fade into the background either. Not only did he get his father's fans in a good mood as an opening act, but he also accompanied him at the end of the concert.

Even after the megahit Every Breath You Take by The Police, which ended the main program, the fans did not let Sting sleep. The O2 arena was therefore lit up in red. It was Roxanne's turn. The singer was inspired to write it by a visit to the red light district in Paris in 1978.

This is Sting's second performance in the Czech Republic this year. At the end of July, he brought his current My Songs tour to Slavkov u Brna. He plans to give fifteen more concerts by the end of the year and in 2023 he will also travel to Australia and Asia with My Songs.

Sting is one of the most committed musicians in the world today. Whenever anything happens in the world – natural disasters or political or military conflicts – he immediately picks up the phone and starts taking action. Financially and psychologically.

The current situation is the war in Ukraine provoked by Russia. His song Russians, which he wrote during the Cold War, has regained its importance after 32 years. At the end of July, he performed in Poland, where he interrupted the concert to draw attention to the undemocratic conditions in the country and at the same time condemned the war in Ukraine.

From a musical point of view, Sting's songs represent a great source of inspiration for musicians of various genres and exist in many cover versions.
