Reims: Sting put on a show at the Arena...

Sting performed this Wednesday, October 5th, at the Reims Arena, in front of a near-full house. The 71-year-old singer alternated between his classics and his latest tracks, confirming his success.

It only took a few seconds to understand how much the Reims audience was waiting for Sting, in the (nearly) full Arena. Opening the show with his song "Message in a Bottle," the co-founder and songwriter of The Police had everyone in agreement. Immersed in the 70s, the audience sang along to the lyrics of the famous song and applauded the singer, accompanied by musicians and backing vocalists. But above all, he sang his bass guitar, which he played throughout the evening. The seventeen-time Grammy Award winner then transported the audience to an American atmosphere with the song "Englishman in New York."

Then came the moment when he addressed the audience, in limited but charming French: "Thank you, thank you very much, it's great! I'm very happy, very here. In France."

A simple speech that perfectly represented Sting, who came dressed in a gray t-shirt and black pants to perform. After a few words for his audience, the singer alternated between more intimate moments with songs such as "The Shape of My Heart" and more rock-oriented moments, where lights and drums resonated throughout the venue.

Along with performances from his latest album, released in November 2021, "The Bridge." Regardless, the Arena audience adapted each time, between silence and attention on one side and applause and chants on the other.

Just as between the first part of the concert, performed by his son Joe Sumner, and the beginning of his father, Sting,'s show. Joe Sumner, at the age of 45, has captivated audiences with his guitar compositions such as "You You You" and "See You Again," which he dedicated to his wife and children.

Through the family duo, a new chapter has been written for the Reims Arena performance hall, which was only inaugurated last February with an evening dedicated to martial arts. Numerous artists will be joining the roster by the end of the year, such as SCH on October 22, M on November 24, and Julien Doré on December 2.
