Slavkov u Brna (Vyškov region) - British musician Sting performed in the castle park in Slavkov u Brna in the Vyškov region tonight. His concert was held for the fourth time. The musician had repeatedly postponed previous concert dates in Slavkov. Today, the most popular songs charting Sting's career were performed. It had long been sold out, and over 14,000 visitors enjoyed the concert. Ondřej Pojzl told ČTK on behalf of the organizer.

Crowds of fans headed to the park immediately after it opened at 4:00 p.m. Before Sting, Lenka Nová & Petr Malásek band, Joe Sumner, and then Vojtěch Dyk with B-Side Band performed. The concert in a unique setting was mainly enjoyed by people in their forties and thirties, but there were also teenagers in the crowd in front of the stage.

The multiple Grammy Award winner appeared on stage with his concert program My Songs shortly after 8:00 p.m. He immediately cheered the audience with his first song, Message in a Bottle, which was written when Sting was playing with The Police, and the crowd also cheered and sang along with his younger piece, Englishman in New York. This was followed by songs such as Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, If It's Love, and Rushing Water.

German and English could be heard in the crowd, and both couples and groups of people came to enjoy the concert. People came to Slavkov from all over the country. "I bought a ticket for that concert in 2019. I had no idea that I would see it until now, but it was worth it," 45-year-old Marta from Pardubice told ČTK.

Slavkov's roads were congested in places in the afternoon, cars parked wherever they could, but fans could also use the parking lot reserved for them. A smaller convoy of cars drove from Brno and towards Rousínov in front of the city in places. However, it was also possible to reach Sting by a special train, which left Brno after 3:30 p.m. and returned before 11:00 p.m.

There had been talk of a Sting concert in Slavkov for almost four years. The first date in 2019 was cancelled due to the musician's health condition, and the next two were cancelled due to pandemic restrictions.
